Notarial legalisation
The notarial legalisation of the translation is necessary if you prepare documents for leaving abroad or you are going to submit a document to an official organisation in your country.  The procedure of the notarial legalisation takes place in two stages:

  1. Translation of a document.
  2. Legalisation of the translator’s signature by the notary.

You must bring the original of your document to our office in order to make a notarised translation. The made translation will be bound up together with its original or notarised copy (depending on demands). The number of pages, as well as the translator’s signature, will be legalised by the notary’s seal.

Legalisation
Legalisation is the confirmation of the fact that the document coming from the state authorities or made with their help corresponds to the legislation of this state.  In other words, legalization is the validation of the document in the territory of another state.

There are two main types of legalization of documents – putting the stamp “Apostille” and consular legalization. The choice of the type of legalization depends in every particular case on the country of destination. The legalisation is not necessary in three cases:

  • if the authorities of the foreign state, where you submit the document, do not require its legalisation;
  • if there is concluded a bilateral agreement, which eliminates the requirement of legalisation, between Moldova and the state in the territory of which the document is planned to be used;
  • if the legalisation of the document is impossible because of its type (kind, nature).
